Helen Giaquinto was born in Williamsburg Brooklyn, New York. She pursued an art career before she attended college and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. In the 1960s, with her husband and children, she moved to the Hamptons where they resided for over fifty years. Helen is a prolific artist who finds pleasure in painting seascapes, beach scenes and boat venues. Her work is extensive. It includes other art forms such as still lifes, portraits and abstracts. She continues her career as an artist, a teacher and as an active member in various art organizations and exhibits.
My works are generally painted in watercolor on a half or quarter sheet of paper in different locations en plein aire or from sketches I have made. I paint with a direct approach using my brush as a drawing tool. My art represents expressions of shapes, color and value changes, rather than conditions which are obvious or representational.

I paint with a direct approach using my brush as a drawing tool. My art represents expressions of shapes, color and value changes, rather than conditions which are obvious or representational. When I succeed at creating the illusion that I wish to envision, then I have mastered my skill. I will continue to create art and not duplicate art, knowing the first stroke is mine alone.
Art is a record of created images from events, emotions and memories. These images provide a new experience and perspective shared by the viewer and the artist. Art, in itself, may be presented in many different ways. It can offer the choice of technical graphics as well as the spontaneity of painting on location or in a studio setting.
